This is Jade C from the Summer Learning Journey team! It's already Wednesday, do you have any plans for this weekend? I think I am going to go to a waffle and gelato shop in Parnell, Auckland. I am super excited! :)
Wow, it's heartbreaking to see the damaged Cathedral, I've heard about it being destroyed but I have never actually seen the image of the destroyed building. It's more sad because you can compare the before and after version of the building. I wonder how long it will take to reconstruct the cathedral! It took 40 years to build before, I wish it will take less than that as we have modern technology now.
Perhaps you could also write down some other interesting information about this cathedral, such as how big it is, where it is... etc.

It is very sad to see the damage that has occured to the Christchurch Cathedral. I didn’t realise the extent of the damage until I just looked at the two pictures, side by side. I remember reading that the Cathedral has survived several earthquakes since the 1800s and this was the first earthquake to cause damage to the structure of the whole cathedral. I am glad that the decision has been made to restore the Cathedral so many generations of New Zealanders can enjoy the beauty and the history of the Cathedral.
Please structure your comments as follows: Positive - Something done well. Thoughtful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what they had to say. Helpful - Give some ideas for next time or Ask a question you want to know more about.
