ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you've got a strong opinion on this matter Hannah, which is wonderful. It's great that you have been able to justify your opinion as well. I agree with you, 100%. Over-fishing can be detrimental to our ecosystem so I think it is incredibly important that we have laws (and people to enforce them) that deter (stop) people from fishing in areas where the fish population is declining. Just outside of Auckland (where I live) is a place called Goat Island Marine Reserve where you're not allowed to fish or dive for shellfish but you can snorkel and use glass-bottom kayaks to see all of the sea creatures that live there. It's quite beautiful. Is there anything like that in Christchurch?
